ArtPartners

ArtPartners is a signature program developed by VSA arts of Alabama in 2002 designed to provide a socially inclusive environment where local community artists and VSA emerging artists with disabilities can engage in meaningful relationship building through direct one-to-one participation in the creative arts. Through the year, area community artists work directly with children and adults with disabilities and chronic illnesses to generate fun pieces of art together. Not only are beautiful masterpieces created in the process, but lasting friendships and artistic learning processes are developed. This unique annual program culminates with a live auction and showcase, an inspiring event featuring these collaborative works. All of the colorful pieces of art are special and distinctive to the pair that created them! VSA arts of Alabama is proud to bring this program to the Birmingham, Sylacauga, and Mobile/Fairhope communities.

How can I get involved?

VSA arts of Alabama is currently accepting applications for emerging artists with disabilities and volunteer community artists to assist in creative mentoring during Saturday studio sessions. Partnerships are created through a matching process that includes thematic interests, medium preference, personality, artistic style, and availability. This program is FREE to participants!
