Welcome to VSA arts of Alabama!

We are a statewide, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities in the arts for people with chronic illnesses and disabilities. We offer programming in community, education and healthcare settings across Alabama.

VSA arts of Alabama is an affiliate of VSA arts, an international nonprofit organization serving millions of people with disabilities every year through a network of affiliates in every state and in 55 countries worldwide. VSA arts was founded in 1974 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith as an affiliate of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

    Share My World is an inclusive art exhibit presented by VSA arts of Alabama and supported by the Birmingham Arts and Culture Commission, City of Birmingham. The goal of Share My World is to showcase the artistic talents of students with and without disabilities who attend Birmingham City Schools while providing fun and inspirational artwork in a healthcare setting. Share My World is a great opportunity for Birmingham children and teens to display their artwork while practicing creative self-expression and sharing their world with the community.
